We posted previously about when the Nokia N96 might ship (July? October?) and we were wrong both times — it’s shipping now!  The phone will cost 550€ before taxes and subsidies, which seems a bit steep to me.  Maybe I’m missing something, but isn’t it just an N95 with more memory and a slightly larger screen?  Don’t get me wrong, I loved my N95, but the cost seems a bit steep.
Still, if you’ve got the money, this is a great phone to have.

According to The Symbian Blog, Nokia’s N96 will begin shipping in early October. The phone is the follow-up to their very popular N95, and it remains largely the same. The main changes are an increase in memory (16GB) and a polished, black exterior.
I had an N95 for a while and it was a great phone. The N96 looks to make it even more attractive.
If money wasn’t an option, would you rather have a 3G iPhone or the N96?

We knew it was coming sometime this year, but according to Unwired View the Nokia N96 might start shipping on July 31.
The only big surprise so far is the price. It’s going to be an awesome phone, but the price is going to be somewhere around $1200! I love my N95 and would surely like to have an N96, but that price might put it out of reach for a lot of people. Hopefully they’ll revise it down by a few hundred before it’s released.

The Nokia N96 has been official unveiled, with an expected release of late 2008.
As expected, it’s very similar to the N95 line. The big difference is that it has 16GB of internal memory AND a microSD slot. Full details and specs can be found on All About Symbian.
