Apple will host an event titled "Let's Rock", next Tuesday at 10am in San Francisco.
It's expected that they'll have some updates to the iPod line, as well as possibly an update to their MacBooks. We'll find out on Tuesday.

We presumed that September 7 would be the launch date, and that has proven to be correct. According to iClarified, the phones will be in over 900 stores on the 7th.
There will be a limit of one phone per customer, and pre-orders will not be taken.

Seemingly out of nowhere, Apple has released firmware version 2.0.2 for the iPhone. As with the last update, this one simply addresses "bug fixes". It's believed that this update addresses some of the 3G connectivity problems, but that hasn't been confirmed.
