According to TG Daily, the pricing structure for the 3G iPhone will be:
8GB - $399
16GB - $499
32GB - $599 (maybe)
The phone will feature a slightly thinner body and a less “plasticky” case. They expect the phone to be released at WWDC 2008 (June 9-13), which lines up pretty well with the other guesses we’ve heard of “60 days” and “sometime in June”.
It seems that every phone company is working on an “iPhone killer”. So far, none have really succeeded but there are some good looking phones in the works.
The latest comes from Nokia with their “Tube”, the first touch device from them. They’re not releasing many details about it, other than:
Entirely touch operated
Java support (which the iPhone doesn’t yet officially have)
Photos can be uploaded directly to the web
Based on the name, we can assume a lot of video/TV features.
The experts say it’s coming this summer, but signs are pointing to a 3G iPhone in a matter of days. After hearing word of iPhone shortages GigaOM called many Apple stores, randomly selected, and were told the same thing every time — “sorry, we are out of iPhones”.
They think a 3G iPhone could be announced as soon as today. We’ll see.
Yet another amazing-looking concept that we’ll probably never seen, courtesy of JustAMP. I don’t think it’s unreasonable that we could see a device like this one day, but I’m quite sure these are just fantasy sketches at this point.
The famous LG enV phone has a sequel coming out soon, the LG VX9100, and Engadget has the scoop (via PhoneMag). The phone has a much smaller front screen than the previous models, but a QVGA screen on the inside.
Rumor is that it’ll have a 2-megapixel camera and a standard micro USB port, which means you’ll be able to use generic chargers for the phone.
According to Symbian Freak (via NokNok), a major update to the N95 is coming soon. This update will include support for Widgets (Web Run-Time) and Flash Lite 3, among other things. Very impressive! It’s kind of a shame that you’ll be able to get Flash support on the old version of the N95, but apparently not anytime soon on the iPhone.
It appears the the update coming soon will only be for the original N95, but I have to imagine that it will be released for the N95-3 not too long after that. While I love my N95, but biggest disappointment has been a lack of updates for it. Hopefully this will remedy that.
Other changes in this update include:
General stability updates (something my phone could use)
Image rotation improvements in album view
Gallery & Slideshow performance enhancements
It should be a nice update. Let us know when you see it become available.
It is an impressively simple and sustainable mobile phone combing features that were supposed to be incompatible: simple, advanced, green and unique. It made out of only 4 layers of sustainable materials, the “1 function — 1 part — 1 material” rule facilitates disassembly and materials recycling.
It’s another phone I doubt we’ll ever see, but it sure looks cool. Here’s a few pics:
