XPERIA X1 delayed a few more months

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

The further out they push this thing, the less excited I get.  We first mentioned this phone back in February, then expected it in mid-September, then pushed it back for an October release. Now it appears the phone won't be out until December or January.  According to IntoMobile, the reason for ...

We presumed that September 7 would be the launch date, and that has proven to be correct.  According to iClarified, the phones will be in over 900 stores on the 7th. There will be a limit of one phone per customer, and pre-orders will not be taken.

Study confirms that the iPhone 3G radio isn’t to blame

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Despite all of the buzz we've seen lately, including a hastily-assembled firmware update, it seems that that hardware in the iPhone 3G is pretty solid. A Swedish company decided to find out, and took their iPhone to a test facility made for this kind of thing.  They ran a variety of ...

New iPods, iTunes and price drops coming soon?

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Digg's founder Kevin Rose loves to push out "rumors" about Apple products, and he's rarely accurate.  Still, he's right from time to time, and it's fun stuff to listen to. His latest rumors: Revamp of entire iPod line. Small cosmetic changes to Touch, Nano to see significant redesign (see pic on the right). iPods ...

HTC to launch the “Fuze”, as well as an Android powered phone

Monday, August 18th, 2008

The forthcoming HTC Touch Pro reportedly will be dubbed the "Fuze" with AT&T.  There is still no release date yet, but PHONE Magazine says it's coming "sooner rather than later".  I'm a sucker for any phone with a slide out QWERTY, so this one is on my radar. Also, the HTC ...

BlackBerry Bold to sell for $399 PLUS a 3-year contract in Canada

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Based on a scanned photo at Unwired View, it seems that Rogers will be selling the BlackBerry Bold for $399, but only with a 3-year contract. Given the low price of $199 (US) for the iPhone, with only a 2-year contract, this seems pretty insane.  We'll see how well they sell, ...

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

It's been a hot rumor in the past, but it's back again (MacRumors, CrunchGear, DailyMail and many others) -- Apple will be releasing a "nano" version of the iPhone. The details say that it will sell for £150, which is about $300.  The image at right is not the actual product, ...

Nokia N96 will start shipping in October

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

According to The Symbian Blog, Nokia's N96 will begin shipping in early October.  The phone is the follow-up to their very popular N95, and it remains largely the same.  The main changes are an increase in memory (16GB) and a polished, black exterior. I had an N95 for a while and ...
