BlackBerry Bold to sell for $399 PLUS a 3-year contract in Canada

August 16th, 2008

Based on a scanned photo at Unwired View, it seems that Rogers will be selling the BlackBerry Bold for $399, but only with a 3-year contract.

Given the low price of $199 (US) for the iPhone, with only a 2-year contract, this seems pretty insane. We’ll see how well they sell, I guess.

The Blackberry 9500 is looking pretty nice

July 9th, 2008

I can’t vouch for how it might perform, but the Blackberry 9500 is looking very nice. It has a 480×360 screen, and these screenshots make it look awesome. We’ll find out soon just how awesome (or not) it really is.

BlackBerry Bold officially unveiled

May 13th, 2008

The much-rumored BlackBerry Bold has been officially unveiled. Among other things, it features:

  • 480×320 resolution
  • 65,000 colors
  • new design
  • replaceable faceplates

I’ve never thought that BlackBerry devices looked very sharp, but this one looks nice. I’d still rather have a device with a slide-out keyboard (like the upcoming XPERIA X1), so you can have a big screen and a QWERTY keyboard. Still, this is a very nice-looking phone.

The device will be available on AT&T this summer for a price of roughly $300 to $400.
