Obama Wants To Keep His Blackberry

Boy those Blackberry devices sure are both useful and addicting. Users just can’t seem to get enough of them. Case in point: President-Elect Obama is really trying to keep a hold of his Blackberry. In an interview with Barbara Walters, Obama said that he is working to find a solution to the problem of surrendering your personal email and cell phone when you become president.

“One of the things that I’m going to have to work through is how to break through the isolation, the bubble that exists around the president,” Obama said. “And I’m in the process of negotiating with the Secret Service, with lawyers, with White House staff … to figure out how can I get information from outside of the 10 or 12 people who surround my office in the White House. Because one of the worst things I think that can happen to a president is losing touch with the struggles that people are going through every day.”

That’s definitely an intereresting take on things for sure. I never quite knew that having a Blackberry would keep you closer to your common man, but who am I to say. All the kids are texting these days. Ironically, the Obama family uses Blackberries, but doesn’t have a dog yet. Maybe they need to work harder on getting that dog and not worry about the crackberries for a few years.
