New iPhone Facebook app coming next month

Facebook has just announced version 2 of their iPhone application, due to come out sometime in September. Based on the screenshots they’ve shown, it looks slick!
I’m a pretty big fan of the current app, but apparently others aren’t so happy with it (check out these comments on Gizmodo).
Some of the new features include:
- Full news feed, not just status updates.
- Notifications. These will even work with the background push notification, once Apple gets it going.
- Redesigned profiles.
- Find/approve new friends.
- Full inbox. The current version only will show your 30 most recent messages.
It sounds like a great update. If we hear of a more specific release date, we’ll let you know.
