Pictures of Verizon’s Samsung U940 Gylde
I’m pretty sure this will be the form factor of my next phone. I like the idea of a big touch screen on top, with a QWERTY sliding out from below. I’m leading more toward the Sony XPERIA X1, but there’s a number of nice choices on the horizon.
Here are handful of nice photos of the phone, as found at HowardForums (via PhoneMag):

So it seems that Verizon butchered the UI as usual. Is there anyway to undo that?

Verizon loves to tweak a UI until it becomes slow and bloated. It’s rather sad.
Now that they’re trying to open up the network, hopefully you’ll be able to use more phones with their native OS instead of being chained to the Verizon mess.

What is the price of this phone in Canada? And would I be able to get it as pay as you go or only on a 3 year contract?

Will - I don’t think it does, but I’m not sure. Hopefully a Glyde owner will see this thread and let us know for sure.

The gylde is a piece of crap, I’m on my second one, the first one had touch screen problems and never responded when I had to hang up a call, it called random people in my phonebook and would always spaz out, when it finally fried itself I figured “hey, there’s a software update, I might as well get a new one” So I got a new gylde, this one worked great! …Then it popped off the hinges and now even my school’s eletroncis shop won’t even touch it, My father’s going to murder me.
Worst phone I’ve ever paid for.
